Recruiting young women of colour onto your board is a crucial first step in the right direction but alone it is not enough. As a board you still have to work to create a welcoming environment where all individuals, including young women of colour, can: bring their whole selves into the boardroom; freely express their opinions and points of view; be provided with the support that they need; and, also be treated as equals.
